Did you know that Austin Newcomers Club is one of the oldest, continually functioning social clubs in Austin? We’ve been in existence for over 75 years! Lots of things have changed over the year, but one thing remains the same. Austinites want to have friends and fun!
Our club is run entirely by our members who donate their time and expertise to make all the fun and friendships happen. We have many different Interest Groups that there is something for everyone. If you don’t find exactly what you are looking for, we are very open to starting new fun and interesting groups. If there is something you’d like to do, it is more than likely other members will be interested in it too.
One of the great things about our club is that you don’t have to be new to Austin to join. Our members run the gamut from just arrived this week to lifelong Austinites. Many of our members have had a recent change in their lives and are looking for some new, wonderful friends to enjoy the many opportunities we have here in Austin. So, check out the list of upcoming events under the News and Events tab. There’s bound to be something that will spark your interest in joining the club.
In case you don’t know me, here is a little about your ANC President. I was born in Rochester, New York and ended up in Austin by way of Oregon and California. I got here as fast as I could! I’ve been married to Jerry for many years, and we love to travel, play games, and eat out and enjoy good wine. Both of our kids live in Texas. Our son is in New Braunfels and our daughter is here in Austin and a member of ANC. I have 4 grandsons and one great grandson, all of whom I love dearly. I am more than happy to tell you all about them! I spent many years as a NICU nurse and am now retired. I love to travel and fill my local time with activities like crocheting for family/friends and charity, Mahjongg and Canasta, Game Night, WOW-wines of the world, and many other fun activities. Now that you know a little about me, I would love to get to know you. So anytime you see me out and about, introduce yourself!
