Happy New Year Austin Newcomers Club!
It’s hard to believe that 2026 is here already! As we welcome the New Year, we are excited to begin another year of community, friends, fun and positive impact. To continue to make Austin Newcomers Club a success, we are seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are willing to give some time and support to the Club. As you may know, the ANC Executive Board changes members every year. This is your opportunity to make a positive impact on our Club’s ongoing success. The term is one year and runs from July 1, 2026- June 30, 2027. We have a Nominating Committee who will be reaching out, starting in January, to Club members to fill these positions. Please take the time to answer their calls and ask questions about the positions that will be available and be willing to volunteer! Job descriptions of all the Board positions are available in the Members Only Section of the Home page. Select Board Documents, then go to bottom of the page and select Board / Committee Member Job Descriptions to find the information about the commitment and duties of each position. The current Board member will be available to train the incoming candidate. You are never alone and always have support from the other Board members. A Club-wide vote will take place in May 2026 to elect the new Board. Please be willing to volunteer to keep our fantastic Club thriving!
Austin Newcomers Club Calendar is filling up again after the holidays. Please check it out and sign up for your current favorites and maybe try something new. Always sign up on the Calendar! Be sure your membership is current so you can sign up and attend all the activities. Once your membership due date passes, you will not be able to sign up and will need to pay your membership fee to attend any Club activities.
In February, a new Interest group will start: Bunco! It’s already on the Calendar, just waiting for players to sign up! If there is something you like to do that’s not currently on the Calendar, start a new group. Just contact The Interest Group Coordinator so you can present it to the Board for approval and get the fun started.
