It happens every year toward the end of December. My thoughts turn to the winter ahead and wonder how I can possibly
wait for June to arrive. Six l-o-n-g months!!!!!! And every year when June is here, I wonder at how quickly those months
sped by. My mother told me it would be thus, as her mother told her. What did I do during those 6 months? I
can't remember, Mom warned me of this, too. Yet there is so much positive to be said about (dare I mention it?) "aging".
When I think of favorite wines & cheeses, for example, that get better with time, I am encouraged to look at my own life in the
same way. Austin Newcomers Club contributes to this awareness day after day in so many ways I can hardly believe it!
My
time as your President is coming to a close as of July 2 when we will celebrate the Board "changeover" at our meeting and buffet lunch
