Greetings from Gail

Austin Newcomers’ President
What a summer! I am writing this
in June, but I can see the future and it is HOT! Any very new Newcomers who have not packed up and left by now can consider themselves
true Austinites!
I am so proud to be able to be president of our great club. Austin Newcomers is such a great place to meet and make
new friends. And we have so much fun! I am honored and excited to have a wonderful board to work with this year. A big Thank You goes
to the nominating committee (Carol Curry, Betty Grisamore, Elaine Martens, Pam Rhodes and Pauline Stockbauer) for doing such a great
job pulling this board together. As we all stood at the June luncheon, I was amazed at the talent willing to give their time to make
Austin Newcomers a welcoming place for all. Look for great things to come! A few hints for August: try tubing in the Comal or Guadalupe
in San Marcos, or sliding and floating at Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, or check out Jacob’s Well, Blue Hole and the Blanco River
in Wimberley, or hang out at Barton Springs and Deep Eddy Pools here in Austin (I hear there are some sights to see, too), or relax
in your own backyard or neighborhood pool.
Look for me there, I like to stay cool!
I just love Austin!
